The Toymakker

Since I have two Toymakker daughters who I think a lot of, I decided I should provide some information about him.  He is owned by Pamela in Pennsylvania and she has a nice page for him with a cute video at:

“Sam” as he is affectionately called, is one of the early smaller gypsy vanners that were imported (I believe he came over in 2004) and Pamela has matched him with DNA to the old file on Legend Boy who is now deceased in USA and could not be verified further.  But it certainly verifies terribly close genetic markers to Eddie Alcock’s Old Black Horse and his very pretty headpiece and heavy feather points to the best of breeding.  I was drawn to advertisements about The Toymakker because he was slow maturing and he did not reach his full height of 13.2 hands until probably five years old, and was thus thought that he was maturing smaller.  This of course appealed to me from the beginning of my search into this breed.  Pamela was also told that he is probably closely related to Syd’s (Sids) Good Stallion which is highly likely because of his general looks and quality.

Pamela Renfro-Dickey is on facebook and can be contacted for news of her get available from Toymakker, including a very nice smaller 3/4 gypsy pony expected.
